I got these votives for free from a local gardening club getting rid of extra decorations. I immediately knew what I wanted to do with them so I scooped them up, thanked the kind little ladies, and did my best impression of a speed walk towards my car.

Because it has been winter for, like, five months now, I have not had the opportunity to spray paint these little beauties. I have waited as long as I can, and today, it is a whopping 60 degrees. In February. In northern New York.

I took it as a divine sign that I was meant to accomplish this task, and ran outside barefoot to start as soon as I could.

You can find little candle holders like these at thrift stores. They might come in hearts or some other shape as well, but keep your eyes peeled for things like that when you visit. Just like I always look for lamps, wooden bowls, embroidery hoops, old tabletop electric fans, and pyrex dishes.

All I did was spray paint these babies according to the directions on the spray paint can. Spray paint can do wonders.
