You click the link with gusto and start reading, only to find that the sofa from the picture “only cost $5,000”. You swallow your sadness and continue reading, because at least the pictures are pretty.
Home decor has become such a huge market over the past decade. Trends are always changing, and I don’t know a single person with the income to keep up with it. I once read something a designer had said, and she basically said that as long as you surround yourself with things you love, it is a valid decor style. There are no rules in decorating as long as you love it.
This was such a relief for me, because for so long I thought there was a list of unspoken decor rules that you had to follow. Pinterest has also helped me narrow down exactly what my style is and what I like, which has been beyond helpful in determining what I want to do with these spaces.
